Gather

Throughout the church year, each Small Group gathers for two hours twice per month, either at a member's home or at our church center. Each group develops its own customs, but each gathering generally includes:

  • An opening chalice lighting and reading
  • Check-in (a chance to share joys, sorrows and challenges with each other)
  • Topic discussion
  • Check out (to see how each member is feeling), and
  • A closing ritual.

The group facilitator guides the amount of time participants spend on each item to ensure that everyone has a chance to participate, share, and listen.

Small Group Sessions

We've found that Small Groups become even more vital and engaging when members share responsibility for choosing and leading session topics. To make this easier, we offer existing sessions covering a wide range topics. Or use our Create a Session of Your Own and Session Resources pages to assist you in creating your own session.
