Small Group Ministries is an ongoing program to help us deepen our connections to each other, grow spiritually, and strengthen our San Francisco Unitarian Universalist community as a whole.
A place to belong and to care for each other
Small Group Ministries, each with about ten people, meet twice monthly to share important parts of our lives. We practice deep listening, which enables us to form lasting friendships, a stronger community, and to minister to each other.
A way to connect our lives to our spiritual needs
Together, we explore important questions and strive to live our values through service projects in our church and the larger community.
Small Group Ministry Sunday Circle
This year, we are introducing shorter, four-session Small Groups that will meet on the first and third Sundays of each month from 1pm to 3pm. These Sunday Circles are perfect for anyone who is new to the church, whose schedule doesn't have room for an entire year's commitment to a regular Small Group, or who just wants to try out the small group experience.
In our first Small Group Ministry Sunday Circle, we will we get to know one another as we share our joys and sorrows, and discuss our personal experiences. As part of the Small Group Ministry program, the Small Group Sunday Circles will follow the same general format and Agreements as our full-year small groups.
What Small Group Members Say
In a recent survey, the vast majority of San Francisco UU Small Group Ministries participants said they would recommend the program to a friend, and that it helped them to:
- deepen their spirituality
- foster positive connections with others in our congregation
- expand their understanding of the world
