Bonfire at the Beach
This program is about nature – how time outside affects our spirituality, and how living in a city can change our perception of nature. It is designed to take place on a beach where bonfires are permitted, and includes a solitary walk on the beach and a communal bonfire.
Member Preparation
In preparation for this session, take some time to think about your relationship to the natural world around you.
These questions provide ways you may want to approach this topic. Remember to focus on just one or two of the questions, if you choose to use them, as this will allow you to explore the topic in more depth.
- How does time spent in nature affect your spirituality?
- What is your favorite place in nature to go, and why?
- How has living in a city altered your perception of nature?
We will be on the beach for a portion of this session—remember to bring warm clothing, appropriate shoes, and a blanket to sit on.
Special Materials
Bonfire materials (wood, kindling, matches, etc.)
