Turning Points

This program explores turning points—those turns, revelations, occasions to have a change of mind, a change of heart, opportunities to see things in a new way—that group members have experienced along the path from the environment in which they grew up to where they are now.

Member Preparation

Along the path from the environment that you grew up in, the things you thought you knew, the things that you believed, the things that you have felt – from that place to this place – the things you believe now, the things you know now, the things you believe now, there have been numerous turns, revelations, occasions to have a change of mind, a change of heart, opportunities to see things in a new way.

These questions provide ways you may want to approach this topic. Remember to focus on just one or two of the questions, if you choose to use them, as this will allow you to explore the topic in more depth.

  • Share one of those turning points in your life. What was your frame of reference before the change? What precipitated the change? How were you different afterward?
  • What beliefs, ideas and feelings have remained constant for as long as you can remember?
