Dreams and the Future
This session is the last of four introductory sessions for a Small Group. In addition to exploring the topic of Dreams and the Future, it also includes time for each member to tell the rest of the group whether or not he or she will stay through the end of the church year.
We designed this series of introductory to be used in the following order: First Steps, Connections, Spiritual Histories, and Dreams and the Future.
Member Preparation
In preparation for this session, think about how you feel about the future, and some of your hopes and dreams.
These questions provide ways you may want to approach this topic. Remember to focus on just one or two of the questions, if you choose to use them, as this will allow you to explore the topic in more depth.
- What hopes or dreams do you have for the future?
- Do you believe your future is affected by your purpose in life, by God, by chance, by luck? Are you in control?
- What hopes or dreams do you have for this small group?
- Think back to an time earlier in your life. What dreams did you have? Have you reached those dreams? Have your dreams changed?
- What factors, criteria, or beliefs do you use in evaluating whether or not to embark on a new project or activity?
- How do you envision your future? What excites you? Scares you?
